Split HarborShared Expenses

Let’s sort it out.

Split Harbor is available on the web and as an iOS TestFlight beta. It is not yet on the App Store. Some controls differ between the browser and iOS versions.

What can I share?

Everyday group expenses, repayments, and monthly mobile-plan charges assigned to families. Supported PDF carriers are Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile. T-Mobile Total Due is divided equally across the detected lines, with rounding adjusted so shares match the total. Imports always need review; unsupported layouts may require manual entry.

How do I invite someone or join a group?

The group owner opens Manage members, adds a participant and sends an invitation to their account email. The recipient signs in with that email, opens Join group, reviews the invitation and accepts it. No invitation code is needed.

New to the app? Open the invitation page and choose the web app or iOS beta. Android users can use the web app. Sign up with the invited email, verify it, then review and accept the invitation. Installing the app does not automatically join a private group.

My invitation is missing or was withdrawn

Check that you verified the same email address the organizer invited, then refresh invitations in Join group. Invitations expire after seven days. For an expired or revoked invitation, ask the organizer to send a new one. The owner can invite several people and revoke an individual invitation without removing other invitations.

How do I manage group members?

Open your group and choose Manage members to add participants, send invitations or remove members. Only the group owner can manage membership. Other active members see View members. Removing a member preserves past expenses and balances; it does not delete their account.

What does “payment reported” mean?

A designated family contact says a transfer was made. The person receiving it must confirm receipt before the months count as paid. The app does not send money.

When should I confirm, reject or reverse a receipt?

Choose Confirm receipt only after receiving the money. Choose Reject if a reported payment was not received. Reverse receipt corrects an earlier confirmation; it does not refund or transfer money. These actions ask for confirmation and are available only to authorized users.

For family bills, linked months stay outstanding until receipt is confirmed. Rejecting or reversing makes those months pending again. The family contact can choose Mark pending again to withdraw an unconfirmed payment report.

I lost my authenticator

Use your email/password and a saved one-time recovery code. Email recovery alone cannot bypass two-factor authentication. Never send passwords, setup keys, or recovery codes to support.

Exporting or deleting an account

Open Settings to find account export and deletion controls. Deletion blocks access immediately and requests identifier removal; shared financial history remains under an anonymous member label. Transfer ownership or archive shared groups first.

Sign-in, email confirmation and password reset

Use the same Split Harbor account on web and iOS. Open the newest confirmation or reset email, including when using a different device. After confirming, return to your browser or app to log in. Check Spam if an email is missing. Never share the link or your password.

Correcting an imported bill

Review the month, carrier, names, line shares and total before saving. A duplicate bill for the same plan and month is blocked. The owner can delete an incorrect saved bill only when payment rules permit it; pending or confirmed payments must be resolved first.
