Case Harbor / Support
Case Harbor support
Case Harbor helps organize USCIS and PERM cases, employment-based priority dates, I-94 admission details and travel history on iPhone and iPad. It is independent of the U.S. government and cannot change a case, predict approval, or provide legal advice.
Contact support
When reporting a problem, include the app version, device model, iOS/iPadOS version, and the steps that caused it. Do not include case numbers, immigration documents, passwords or private case information. Redact screenshots before sharing them.
Track an I-140 petition
In My cases, choose Track I-140 and enter the USCIS receipt number from your receipt or approval notice. Choose Awaiting decision, Approved, or Other / unsure for your personal record. For an approved petition, the approval date is optional. Actively tracked cases can be checked with USCIS, with the last successful check time recorded. Approved or final-decision cases can be kept as records only; automatic and bulk checks skip these until active tracking is resumed. Your personal approval record is shown separately from the retrieved status. To label an existing USCIS case, open it and choose Mark as I-140 petition; its case history and notes are preserved. Edit I-140 details updates your personal record. Track priority dates opens the existing country/category/date tracker without changing your saved profile.
Add a PERM filing without a case number
In My cases, tap +, choose PERM, and enter the filing month and year. The exact day and number are optional. Open the saved case and choose Edit PERM details when you know more. Adding a supported number starts a check with DOL. A filing month alone cannot identify your case or determine its status.
Refresh a case
Add a valid USCIS receipt or supported PERM case number to start a foreground check. Pull down on the case list or detail screen to check again. Last checked records the most recent successful response. A failed check retains the previous status and timestamp; it does not mean the government case has changed. Keep the app open during the check.
Cases marked records only are skipped by automatic and bulk refresh. Resume active tracking from the case when you want to check it again. Optional refresh-on-open checks active cases after six hours since the last attempt.
Website verification or unavailable pages
Complete any verification presented by the agency within the app. If the page cannot load, check your connection and try again later. The app cannot bypass verification or government service outages. If a saved web session is causing problems, About > Clear website cookies and cache resets it and signs out of embedded websites without deleting saved cases.
Older PERM and NVC cases
DOL directs PERM filings before May 31, 2023 to its legacy system. These and NVC/CEAC lookups use the interactive official page and may require details that Case Harbor does not store. If you know only May 2023, supplying the exact day helps choose the correct PERM portal.
Understand priority dates
Enter your country of chargeability, employment-based category and priority date under Priority dates. A date must be earlier than a published cutoff; matching the cutoff day is not current. “Current” and “Unavailable” entries are handled separately. The app displays both Visa Bulletin charts and, when verified, USCIS's selected filing chart for the month. These comparisons do not establish full I-485 or EAD eligibility. Confirm with official sources or your immigration professional.
The dashboard shows the bulletin month and data freshness. Load the previous month to compare cutoff movement when available. Advances and retrogressions describe chart changes, not predicted waiting times. A stale bulletin is not a current-month eligibility determination.
I-94 and travel history
Open My cases > I-94 & travel history > Get I-94 or travel history from CBP. Have your first/given and last/family names, date of birth (MM/DD/YYYY), passport/travel-document number, and passport issuing country/citizenship ready. Match the English machine-readable spelling and the passport used at entry. An I-94 number or USCIS case receipt is not needed for the standard passport lookup. CBP controls the live form and verification requirements.
Choose Get Most Recent I-94/I-95 or View Travel History on CBP’s embedded page, and review its terms yourself. CBP permits personal use and prohibits unauthorized scraping; Case Harbor does not automatically extract records from the CBP webpage. It can fill records from a document you explicitly select. Choose Import CBP document from the tracker or Save details menu above the CBP page. Select I-94 record or Travel history, then choose a text-based CBP PDF or UTF-8 .txt file already saved in Files. Review the extracted fields, confirm the document belongs to you, and save. You can still enter details manually. The saved/import timestamp is when you saved your local copy, not an automatic government check. Scanned images, locked PDFs, files over 10 MB or 50 pages, and unsupported/incomplete layouts are rejected without changing saved records. Import one traveler’s complete document at a time. Importing an I-94 replaces your existing local I-94 after review. Travel import merges events from the last 10 years, skips already-saved matching occurrences and preserves existing entries; importing the same complete document twice does not create extra copies. Reopen CBP and edit the saved record after a new admission or document change.
CBP offers up to 10 years of history for eligible nonimmigrants. Its history is limited and not an official record for legal purposes; this service is unavailable to U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents. Case Harbor shows saved events from the past 10 years by default. Show all saved travel displays older entries. Each arrival/departure is independent; the app does not infer missing trips or H-1B recapture eligibility.
Copy the admit-until date from the I-94, not the visa expiration date. Choose D/S only when the document states duration of status. A newer USCIS-issued I-94 can differ from the CBP admission record; the saved date alone does not establish current immigration status. Consult CBP’s official requirements and help for missing records and corrections.
Back up and restore your records
Open About > Backup & restore. Choose a password of at least 12 characters, export the encrypted .caseharbor file, and save it in Files. Keep your password separately; the developer cannot recover it. To restore, choose your backup file, enter the password, review the preview, then confirm replacement of your local records. Restore replaces records rather than merging them. Website sessions and notification permissions are not included.
Delete saved data
Delete a case from My cases or delete all saved cases in About. Remove the priority-date profile separately in Priority dates. Remove a saved I-94 or travel entry in I-94 & travel history. Website cookies and cache have a separate clear control. The developer cannot recover locally deleted records. An Apple backup may contain app data depending on your settings; removing the app does not remove older backups.
Notifications and accounts
No Case Harbor account is required. The app has no ads or in-app purchases. Optional local reminders prompt you to check cases or review document dates. They do not detect government case changes. Background case polling and remote push notifications are not included. Checks occur while the app is in use.
Requirements
iPhone or iPad running iOS/iPadOS 17 or later. An internet connection is required for official lookups and updated processing information; saved records remain available offline.
